Winter Arc

…But lets start in the Fall

If you’re chronically online like I am (trust me I am trying to work on this) you may or may have not heard of term“Winter Arc”. A winter arc is a storytelling term that describes a section of a narrative, often in anime, manga, TV shows, or novels, that takes place during the winter season. It can be a standalone part of the story or a continuation of a larger plot, typically marked by:

Plot Progression: These arcs might feature events like winter festivals, holiday celebrations, or survival challenges in harsh conditions. They can also be pivotal points where relationships develop or significant plot twists occur.

Seasonal Atmosphere: The setting and visuals focus on snow, ice, cold weather, and other winter themes. This often brings a cozy, festive, or melancholic mood.

Character Development: Winter arcs can be used to explore characters in a more introspective or emotional way, taking advantage of the reflective nature associated with winter. It may involve characters coming to terms with their feelings, facing inner struggles, or finding warmth (literally or metaphorically) during cold times.

Now, imagine taking this concept and applying it to change our lifestyles. When it comes to applying this term as a lifestyle change there are many interpretations. The one that I am personally going to go of from is that starting October 1st you have three months (90 days) or less until the end of the year. In general, these are the months where a lot of people tend to slow down; “oh I’ll start on January 1st when the New Year comes”.

It’s challenging because it’s starting to get colder and darker outside, but there are still three months left in the year. The Winter Arc is all about dialing in and getting laser-focused on your goals so that by the time January 1st rolls around, you’re coming out on top.

Now, it’s obvious that I didn’t lock in on October 1st, but if you’re reading this now, it’s never too late. For any goal that I’m trying to achieve, I visualize a scenario in my head to make it clearer. In this case, a person working on their Winter Arc is wearing an oversized black hoodie set, with the hood up and headphones on, going for a run at 5 a.m. in the rain (LOL). That’s what I imagine.

“I actually have several ideas in my head, and I will be writing them down so I have a visual of what I’ll be working on. Here are some ideas for winter arc inspiration.

Being more consistent with my sleep and wake-up times. My goal is that by the end of my winter arc, I’ll be a 5:30 a.m. person. Right now, I’m waking up around 8-8:30 a.m., but starting this upcoming week, I’ll be waking up at 7 a.m. I know this is possible since a few years ago, I would wake up at 4:30 a.m. and drive into the city to work out before starting my shift at 7:20 a.m.

  1. I am going to follow a workout plan and a meal plan protocol. I’ve been pretty inconsistent with my training intensity and my meals, so this is a way for me to lock in and get focused.
  2. For my mindset, I want to return to morning and evening journaling, mainly because I want to become more aware of my daily thought patterns. I just want to put everything on paper, which is super beneficial for mental health and for understanding what’s on your mind on a daily basis.
  3. I want to use this time to work on my identity framework. It’s really about recreating the identity of who you want to be and reprogramming your mind to align with that version of yourself, so you can become that person faster. Overall, I aim to continue strengthening my identity regarding my relationship with money, love, success, my life, etc.
  4. Lastly, I am going to be much more consistent with content creation. It’s something I’ve dabbled in for years, but I will use my platforms to document my winter arc journey—not just for myself but also in the hopes that it will help others.

So with that being said if you’re ready to lock the f*ck in and be unrecognizable and go into the New Year a whole bran new better up leveled version of yourself get to planning your winter arc right now.

Here are some probing thoughts/questions that I am asking myself while working on mine:

Think about things that you want to up level in mentally, spiritually and physically and then start to add those in

What would your up leveled version of yourself be doing?

What are some habits that you want to adopt that you haven’t yet?

What are some goals that you wanted to work towards that you thought about working towards all year that you haven’t gotten around through

These thought is what you should be pulling your inspiration from. Hope this helps and

HAPPY WINTER ARC-ING 🙂
